In fact, companies in the domestic sweeping robot market can be divided into three categories: top players led by Cobos and Stone Technology; traditional comprehensive home appliance companies represented by Midea and Haier; and start-up companies such as Cloud Whale and Chaimi represented companies.

The characteristics of the sweeping robots produced by enterprises with different backgrounds are not the same, and the promotional selling points are also different. Traditional home appliance companies are keen to promote “great suction, large dust box and water tank”, while leading players will try their best to show the navigation planning technology of the product. From the user’s point of view, suction, space and navigation technology are all core functions, and the importance of navigation technology is more prominent among many functions. The route planning and obstacle avoidance system of the sweeping robot is an intelligent technology that consumers can perceive, while the sweeping robot without navigation technology can only lose its direction, even if the suction is strong, it can only do useless work.

At present, laser navigation technology will be popular for a long time in the future. The specific working principle of laser navigation is that the environmental information collected by laser radar presents a series of scattered points with accurate angle and distance information, which is called point cloud. By matching and comparing two point clouds at different times, laser navigation calculates the distance of relative motion of the machine and the change of posture, so as to complete its own positioning. Compared with visual navigation, laser navigation has higher accuracy and is less susceptible to interference.

With the continuous advancement of technologies such as sensors and chips, future intelligent sweeping robots are expected to be equipped with more functions, and their perception capabilities will be further improved.
