With the improvement of the national economic level, the intelligence level of home appliances is also gradually improving. Among many electrical appliances, the popularity of sweeping Robots continues to rise, becoming the choice of many consumers. Industry organizations predict that the sales volume of the cleaning appliance market will reach 37.4 billion, and the sales volume will exceed 32 million units.
Who is buying sweeping robots? According to survey data, the core users of sweeping robots are mainly older married men in high-tier cities, and the user scale of low-tier unmarried young women is growing rapidly.
The main function of the sweeping robot is to clean the ground, but its own cleaning after cleaning is also a big problem. Although the method of manual cleaning is feasible, it seems that the “sweeping robot” is not “intelligent”, which runs counter to people’s original intention of “freeing hands”.
In view of the strong needs of users, sweeping robots with self-cleaning functions have emerged. In 2019, the “mopping robot that can wash rags” came out, and self-cleaning technology has gradually penetrated and accelerated since then.
In addition to autonomous cleaning, navigation is also one of the core functions of sweeping robots. Take the Roborock sweeping robot G10 as an example. Whenever the sweeping and mopping is completed, the Roborock sweeping robot G10 will return to the self-cleaning base and automatically clean the mop with clean water. In addition to scrubbing with clean water, the base station will also use a 600 rpm cleaning module to repeatedly scrub the mop to ensure that the mop is clean enough.
When it comes to domestic sweeping robot companies, many people immediately think of Ecovacs and Stone Technology. The sweeping robot business of these two listed companies both account for more than 50%. In fact, companies in the domestic sweeping robot market can be divided into three categories: top players led by Cobos and Stone Technology; traditional comprehensive home appliance companies represented by Midea and Haier; and start-up companies such as Cloud Whale and Chaimi represented companies.
The characteristics of the sweeping robots produced by enterprises with different backgrounds are not the same, and the promotional selling points are also different. Traditional home appliance companies are keen to promote “great suction, large dust box and water tank”, while leading players will try their best to show the navigation planning technology of the product. From the user’s point of view, suction, space and navigation technology are all core functions, and the importance of navigation technology is more prominent among many functions. The route planning and obstacle avoidance system of the sweeping robot is an intelligent technology that consumers can perceive, while the sweeping robot without navigation technology can only lose its direction, even if the suction is strong, it can only do useless work.
At present, laser navigation technology will be popular for a long time in the future. The specific working principle of laser navigation is that the environmental information collected by laser radar presents a series of scattered points with accurate angle and distance information, which is called point cloud. By matching and comparing two point clouds at different times, laser navigation calculates the distance of relative motion of the machine and the change of posture, so as to complete its own positioning. Compared with visual navigation, laser navigation has higher accuracy and is less susceptible to interference.
With the continuous advancement of technologies such as sensors and chips, future intelligent sweeping robots are expected to be equipped with more functions, and their perception capabilities will be further improved.
