Global warming is accelerating the melting of icebergs in the Arctic and Antarctic. Rising sea levels pose an environmental threat to coastal areas and islands in Asia. This has led to a surge in air-conditioning, electricity use in Asia, and increased infrastructure spending to protect coastal cities and agricultural areas.
